Crystal Lake South offensive lineman Trevor Keegan has narrowed his list to three.

Keegan, one of the most heralded recruits in McHenry County history, will announce his decision at 6:30 p.m. Friday at South. His top three schools are Georgia, Michigan and Penn State. Keegan announced his top three via Twitter on Monday.

The announcement of his top three choices eliminated three more schools from consideration: Alabama, Clemson and Ohio State.

Head coaches from all three of Keegan's top schools visited Keegan and his family in Crystal Lake within the past two weeks. Keegan has almost 30 Division I scholarship offers. He holds offers from 12 out of 14 Big Ten schools and all four teams in last year’s College Football Playoff.

Keegan is rated as a four-star recruit, according to 247Sports' composite rating, which uses an algorithm to combine ratings from various major recruiting services. According to the composite rating, Keegan is the class of 2019's No. 163-rated recruit in the nation, the No. 1-rated recruit in Illinois and No. 17-rated offensive tackle in the nation.

South listed Keegan at 6-foot-6, 295 pounds on its 2018 roster. His recruitment has been well documented, dating to his first scholarship offer in summer 2016 when he was entering his sophomore football season.

Keegan was a four-year varsity lineman for South. He was a member of a senior class that brought the Gators back to the IHSA playoffs after a two-year hiatus. South went 6-5 in 2018, winning its first-round game in the Class 6A playoffs before falling to Niles Notre Dame in the second round.
