Betty Wolf

PERU — Betty Ann (Mueller) Wolf, 92, of Peru, formerly of Magnolia, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 12, 2018, in the Mendota Lutheran Home.

Betty was born in Peru, on July 7, 1926, to Fred and Mildred (Hassler) Mueller. She married Andrew W. “Bud” Wolf on Sept. 22, 1946. He preceded her in death in 2003.

Betty was an elder member of the McNabb Society of Friends (Quakers) and the woman’s group Friendly Circle. She and her husband were active members of the Edgewood Golf Club, bringing home many trophies for singles and couples tournaments. Betty was also a member of Marshall-Putnam Farm Bureau, the Putnam County Historical Society and the Putnam Educational Foundation.

Betty was a true “city gal turned country.” She helped Bud with cattle, hogs and drove tractors for harvest. After Bud retired from farming, they both enjoyed winters golfing in Florida at Winterhaven. Bud and Betty also enjoyed many cruises to Alaska, Hawaii and the Rhine.

Surviving are two children, Wilson James Wolf of Maryland and Janice Wolf of Peru; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. She held a special place in her heart for her granddaughter, Teresa, and great- grandsons, Nicholas and Tyler.

The Society of Friends (Quakers) will hold a memorial service at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 18. Burial will be at a later date in Friends Cemetery in McNabb. Visitation will be one hour prior to the memorial service at meeting house in McNabb.

Donations may be made to the Society of Friends Meeting, IV Adult Day Center or Putnam County Ambulance Service.
