Oregon cruised past
Orangeville 70-56 on Wednesday in the Forreston Holiday Tournament.
With the win, Oregon will play for 13th place today against Pecatonica.
Trey Woolsey scored 29 points for the Hawks. Riley Birnbaum added 10, as nine different Hawks scored.
Polo 61, Stillman Valley 54: The Marcos won a consolation semifinal at the Forreston Tournament, and will play the host Cardinals for the consolation championshipn on Friday.
Brady Webb hit four 3-pointers and led Polo with 27 points, and Justin Young scored 14. The Marcos trailed 13-10 after one quarter, but outwcored Stillman in every other quarter.
Pearl City 39, Milledgeville 34: The Missiles led 10-8 after one quarter, and the game was tied 17-17 at halftime before the Wolves went on an 18-9 run in the third quarter.
Nate Rahn had 13 points for Milledgeville. Treyton Selman scored 10, and Blayne Kappes added eight.
River Ridge 60, Eastland 49: The Cougars fell behind 17-6 after one quarter and could not rally back in a Forreston Tournament loss.
Reid Janssen had 12 points. Lane Christians added 11, shooting 6-for-7 from the free-throw line.
Girls basketball
Orion 59, Fulton 53: The Steamers were outscored 15-8 in the second quarter, and that turned out to be the difference in a Three Rivers West road loss.
Emily Schipper had 16 points, Macy Puckett hit four 3-pointers and finished with 13 points, and Kearston
Norman scored 11 points for Fulton.
Danielle Taets poured in 33 points for the Chargers, surpassing the 1,000-point mark for her career.
Wrestling
Rockets split in Fulton: The Rock Falls wrestlers lost for the first time this season, falling to Lena-Winslow 39-24 at Fulton. The Rockets beat the Steamers 65-12.
Adam Meenen (145 pounds), Lonnie Gribbons (182), Joe Nelson (195), and Brody Mulvaney (220) picked up wins for the Rockets against the Panthers.
Meenen (138), Dillon Schueler (126), Marcus Mendoza (132), Devon Parker (145), Reiley Dowd (152), Cade Adams (160) and Noah Bellini (170) picked up wins for the Rockets against Fulton. Max Pannell (195) and Eli Pannell (220) won for Fulton against the Rockets.
Boys bowling
LaSalle-Peru 3,270, Sterling 2,429: The Golden Warriors could not keep pace with the Cavaliers on the road.
Andrew Doughty had the high series for the Warriors with a 455, and the high game with a 169.
