Cynthia A. Montanez

STERLING – Cynthia A. Montanez, 67, of Sterling, died Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2019 at her home.

She was born March 3, 1951, in Sterling, to John and Ernestine (Penaflor) Barron. She was a homemaker and attended St. Mary Catholic Church in Sterling.

Surviving are her children, Dominick Montanez, Monica Eshelman and Daniela (Travis Weitzel) Silvas, all of Sterling; her sisters, Vickie Rios and Bobbie (Nick) Rodriguez, both of Sterling; her brothers, John (Linda) Barron of Rock Falls and Rene Rodriguez of Sterling; 15 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Linda Cardenas.

Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2019, at McDonald Funeral Home in Sterling.  The funeral will follow at 11 a.m. at the funeral home, with the very Reverend James R. Keenan, officiating. Cremation rites will follow the service.

A memorial has been established in her memory.
