Warrant arrest after traffic stop
Plano police arrested Angelica Finley, 20, of the 200 block of Georgeanna Street, Yorkville, after stopping the vehicle she was a passenger in the 200 block of East Route 34 on Jan. 2. Police said officers found a small amount of cannabis and alcohol while searching the vehicle. Finley was issued city ordinance citations for possession of cannabis and possession of open alcohol. In addition, police said Finley was wanted on a Kendall County warrant for failure to appear in court on a prior alcohol possession charge. Police said they issued the driver of the vehicle, Jacob Rodriguez, no age given, a city ordinance citation for possession of cannabis. Rodriguez was released at the scene, while Finley was transported to the county jail in Yorkville pending court proceedings.
Domestic battery arrest
Plano police arrested Christina Moreno, 36, of the 300 block of West Abe Street, Plano, on a charge of domestic battery at her residence Dec. 31 at 8 p.m. Police said Moreno was transported to the county jail in Yorkville pending court proceedings.
Suspended license
Plano police arrested Jesus A. Salazar, 33, of the 16000 block of Finch Avenue, Harvey, on charges of driving on a suspended license following a traffic stop at Eldamain Road and Faxon Road at 9:06 a.m. Jan. 5. Police also cited Salazar for speeding.
Retail theft
Plano police arrested Theresa F. Pekala, 35, of Aurora on charges of retail theft at 2:46 p.m. Jan. 7 at a business in the 6800 block of West Route 34.
Crash with injuries
Plano police responded to a crash in the area of Little Rock Road and Route 34 at 7:45 p.m. Jan. 7. Police said a Toyota Camry driven by Maribel Mendez, 50, of Sandwich ran a red light, entered the intersection and was struck by a Dodge Durango driven by Linda S. Kotecki, 64, of Sandwich. Police said the two drivers were treated by Little Rock-Fox EMS on the scene and released. Mendez was ticketed for disobeying a traffic signal, police said.
