Dennis Elliott

PRINCETON — Dennis H. Elliott, 76, of Princeton passed away Saturday, Jan. 12, 2019, at Aperion Care after a brief illness.

He was born to Charles and Dorothy (Mazur) Elliott on Dec. 31, 1942, in Princeton. He married Cathy Shives on Nov. 15, 2003, at the Chicago Cultural Center.

Dennis was a graduate of Princeton High School, class of 1961. He was employed by MTM, formerly Jostens, for 47 years in various departments. He retired as senior designer in 2010. He was well known for designing the championship rings for the Chicago Bulls and Chicago White Sox.

He was also a local artist and sculptor, painting many scenes of the Princeton area, surreal paintings and portraits.

He is survived by his wife, Cathy Elliott; one daughter, Margo (Raymond) Schindel of Tiskliwa; two sons, Patrick (Lura Hamrick) Elliott of Princeton and Jonathan (Tiffany Lennox) Elliott of Princeton; two stepsons, Neil (Lauren) Shives of Colorado and Matthew (Robin) Shives of Tiskilwa; one daughter-in-law, Louanne Elliott of Princeton; seven grandchildren; and two great-granddaughters.

Dennis was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Timothy Elliott, on June 24, 2018; and one sister, Charlene Lundeen.

A celebration of life will be from 3 to 5 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 16, at the Norberg Memorial Home in Princeton. A service will follow at 5 p.m. at the funeral home with Deacon John Murphy officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family for charitable distribution.
