DeKALB – A $1,500 donation from Country Financial will help buy training and mission gear for the local Civil Air Patrol, according to a news release from the insurance company.
DeKalb County Composite Squadron 271 will use the funds to buy training material and equipment, gear, mission equipment and promotional equipment, Country Financial Representative Steve Klopfenstein said in the release.
“It is an honor to support the work of our local Civil Air Patrol,” Klopfenstein said. “The Civil Air Patrol is almost a 100 percent volunteer auxiliary program for the United States Air Force, so much of the local level funding is by donation. Country Financial is proud to support our military through Operation Helping Heroes donations in the communities we serve.”
Operation Helping Heroes was initiated in 2015 to support nonprofit events and programs that benefit active-duty service members, veterans and their families. In 2019, Country Financial and its financial representatives will donate $100,000 to first-responder and military organizations, according to the release.
