Name: Hailey Orman

School: Batavia, senior

Sport: Basketball

Why she was selected: Orman hit three 3-pointers for nine points in a win over Wheaton Warrenville South, and hit five 3-pointers for 15 points in the Bulldogs' win over Geneva. Chronicle sports reporter Jacob Bartelson caught up with Orman to discuss her successes from the past week. Below is an edited transcript.

Bartelson: You've been back from injury for awhile, but do you feel fully back up to speed and top form?

Orman: Yes, even while I was out, I was still able to participate in practice. So, it made coming back easier. I feel like I have gained back my old role, and am ready to finish the season out.

Bartelson: You've had an awesome stretch from beyond the three-point line lately. What has fed into that success?

Orman: I think what helps me to be the most successful recently is that my teammates have really been able to find me when I am open. On top of that, everyone has really been contributing, so it is hard for a team to figure out how to guard all of us; which, I think really helps me to get my open shot.

Bartelson: As a team, you've definitely hit a nice stride . Collectively, what's been the biggest factor?

Orman: I think having everyone back and healthy is really helping us. Defensively and offensively, we really are able to play together, which has contributed to our success as a team.

Bartelson: Only a few regular season games left before regionals. Is there anything left you want to individually accomplish ahead of the postseason?

Orman: To finish strong and to a great time with my team.
