Jefferson 'Jeff ' McBroom Sr.

STERLING – Jefferson ‘Jeff’ McBroom Sr., 63, of Sterling died Monday, February 4, 2019 at CGH Medical Center in Sterling.

He was born on July 21, 1955 in Sterling, the son of Presley and Katy (Schultz) McBroom. He attended Sterling and Rock Falls Schools. He married Cindy S. Higley on January 23, 1982 in Rock Falls. Jeff had worked at Eagle Grocery and when they closed he then worked as overnight manager at County Market in Sterling. Later he worked at Johnson Control in Dixon for a short time.

Survivors include his wife, Cindy; daughters: Tonya (Nathaniel) Mills of Sterling and Sonya (Orrie) Peterson of Luck, WI; son, Jeff (Kayla) McBroom Jr of Coal Valley, IL; his sisters: Barb Sarver of Rock Falls, Judy Staples of Dixon and Vicki (Randy) Hedrick of Sterling; his brother Tom (Rosie “Pinky) McBroom of Sterling; 9 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister Laurie McKenna and infant son Leon McBroom.

At his request there will be no services and cremation has taken place. Arrangements by McDonald Funeral Home & Crematory.
