WALNUT — At its first board meeting of February, the Walnut Village Board agreed to keep the meeting as brief as possible considering the impending wintry weather that was forecast for Tuesday evening.
The only business on the agenda for the board was a request from Ag View FS regarding water.
Ag View is moving outside the village limits but would like to have water provided by the village. Board members are concerned about extending water to the new Ag View and thereby creating water pressure problems for current village residents in the area of Ag View.
After discussion, it was agreed that before any decisions could be made regarding this request, an engineering study would need to be completed to determine whether the water extension would cause concerns for current customers.
The board further decided that Village Superintendent Carl Minks approach the manager of Ag View to ask whether Ag View would be willing to pay for the engineering study.
Minks will report back to the board regarding his discussion with Ag View and then the board will make its final decision.
The meeting was then adjourned.
The next village board meeting will be at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 19, in the village meeting room.
