Edward Isaac Martinez Jr.

PHOENIX – On Monday, February 4, 2019, Edward Isaac Martinez Jr., 48, died at Saint Joseph’s Hospital in Phoenix, Arizona.

Ed Jr. was born on February 26, 1970, in Sterling, IL, to Edward V. Martinez (Sandy Williamson) and Angela (Alvarado) Martinez (Wakean Yount). On June 3, 2015, he married Meryred and adopted her son Jiro.

Ed Jr. had a passion for traveling and adventure. He loved watching basketball, and football. Ed was known for his giving nature, sense of humor, and most of all his kind and compassionate spirit, never missing a family get-together. Ed Jr. worked most of his life as a caregiver; this continued on even after death. As an organ donor, Ed Jr. saved the lives of three individuals.

He is survived by his father, Edward V. Martinez (Sterling), and his mother, Angela Martinez, his two children, Kiara Martinez, and Brandon Freeman, both of Colorado, five grandchildren, Quinton, Shariyah, Devajanae, Nora Rose, and Amias, his brother, Richard Martinez, his two sisters, Loretta Martinez and Ruth ‘Lisa’ Martinez, his nieces, Ivy Martinez and Merissa Martinez, and nephews Marcel, Aaron Matthew, Christopher, and Isiah, and several great- nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held in Colorado.
