Gail McCauley

HENNEPIN — Gail F. (Platt) McCauley, 74, of Hennepin passed away at 3:55 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 9, 2019, in Heartland Health Care Center in Henry, after a short, courageous battle with cancer.

She was born Nov. 21, 1944, in Spring Valley to William and Sara
(Belcourt) Platt. She married Paul McCauley Feb. 17, 1991, in Las Vegas. He survives.

She was retired from the housekeeping department at Perry Memorial Hospital.

She was a member of the Hennepin and Tiskilwa women’s clubs, and the Tiskilwa Historical Society, and she volunteered many hours over the years with various children’s organizations.

Also surviving are three daughters, Kimberly Clark of Crestview, Fla., Lisa (Greg) Braswell of Centerton, Ark., and Kelly (Joe) Eiken of Tiskilwa; one son, Greg McCauley of League City, Texas; 10 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and one sister, Sharon Samuelson of Oxford, Wis.

She was preceded in death by a son, James E. Tyler Jr. on Feb. 28, 2018.

Funeral services will be at 12:45 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 16, in the Helmer-Shields Funeral Home in Granville with Pastor Betty Delgado officiating. Burial will be in the Riverside Cemetery in Hennepin.

Visitation will be held prior to the service, from 10 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. in the funeral home.

Memorials may be directed to the family for donations to the Putnam County Ambulance Service and the Tiskilwa Historical Society.
