Rev. Ralph Faber

PRINCETON — Rev. Ralph Edgar Faber, 83, of Princeton died Saturday, Feb. 9, 2019, at Liberty Village in Princeton.

He was born Jan. 20, 1936, at his home in LaMoille, during a month-long blizzard, the son of Henry Frederick and Rosalia Agnes (Meisel) Faber. He married Ruth Joanne Morris July 18, 1954, in Van Orin. She survives in Princeton. They shared 64 years together.

Ralph graduated from Amboy High School with the Class of 1953. In 1968, he graduated from Huntington College, Huntington, Ind., with a Bachelor of Bible and Religion degree. He took a course at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School in Deerfield in 1971 and earned his Master of Christian Ministry at the School of Christian Ministry, Huntington, Ind., in 1992. In 2018, he celebrated his 50th college reunion.

He ministered at the Evangelical United Brethren (EUB) Church, Balbec, Ind., from 1965 to 1967; EUB Church, Monroeville, Ind., from 1967 to 1970; United Brethren (UB) Church, Manlius, from 1970 to 1973; UB Mission, Quincy, from 1973 to 1977; UB Churches of Rockford/Leaf River from 1977 to 1979; UB Church, Abilene, Kan., from 1981 to 1989; UB Church, Claytonville, from 1989-1999; and the UB Church of Manlius, from 2001 to 2005.

Also surviving are three sons, Raymond (Melinda) Faber of Crawfordsville, Ind., John (Abby) Faber of Cissna Park and Ralph (Angela) Faber of Princeton; one daughter, Lynn (Daniel) Rasmussen of Manlius; eight grandchildren, Ronald, Michael, Tessa, Will, April, Layne, Dale and Reese; three great-grandchildren, Logan, Tristan and Aubrey; and one brother, Jerry (Glenda) Faber of Jackson, Mo.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one grandson, Richard Faber; one brother, Norman Faber; and one sister, Shirley Rod.

A funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 16, at the First United Methodist Church in Princeton with the Rev. Steven Barber officiating. Burial will be in Restland Cemetery in Mendota.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 15, at the Grant-Johnson Funeral Home in Princeton.
