A Woodstock School District 200 bus with about 15 students aboard was involved in a crash Tuesday afternoon.
The two-vehicle crash occurred about 3:50 p.m. at Route 120 and Thompson Road, Wonder Lake Fire Protection District Chief Mike Weber said. The roads were slippery at the time as snow fell throughout McHenry County, he said.
It appeared that the bus rear-ended a box truck, Weber said. Two adults and the students were evaluated at the scene. Two students had minor injuries but were not taken to the hospital, he said.
The road was briefly closed while the students were transferred to a new bus. The bus involved in the crash was towed from the scene, Weber said.
The kids involved were Northwood Middle School and Woodstock North High School students, District 200 spokesman Kevin Lyons said.
He said parents were notified by telephone and email as soon as district officials were made aware of the situation. Lyons did not have details regarding the extent of the damage to the bus or whether the driver will be disciplined.
The Bull Valley Police Department could not be reached for comment Tuesday about whether anyone was cited.
