George ‘Butch’ Edward Helfrich III

DIXON – George “Butch” Edward Helfrich III, 50, of Dixon, passed away Thursday, January 31, 2019, at Katherine Shaw Bethea Hospital in Dixon after battling lung cancer for over 7 years. He worked in construction for many years prior to his passing.

Butch was born September 29, 1968, in Sun Valley, CA, the son of George Edward and Karen (Dickson) Helfrich, Jr. He enjoyed many things in life, especially derby racing “car number 359,” and his two dogs, Debo and Bren, who precede him in death.

Survivors include his father, George “Butch” Edward, Jr. and step-mom, Linda of Dixon; four children, George “LB” Helfrich IV of Dixon, Dallas Helfrich of Dixon, Katelyn Molnar of Byron and Michael Molnar of Byron; one grandmother, Carmella “Connie” Serino of Las Vegas, NV; three sisters Audra (Jim) Reindel of Ashton, Suzann (Steve) Brady of Oregon and Jaime (Shawn) Fisher of Dixon; eight nieces and nephews, Steven Letcher of Forreston, Christina Ramos of Rochelle, Tyler Insey, Kimberly Lenarz, Robert Jones Jr., Kayli Ann Fisher, Ryli Fisher all of Dixon; Katlyn Brady of Oregon; aunts and uncles. He was loved by all and will be greatly missed.

Butch was preceded in death by his mother, Karen; grandparents, George Edward and Althea Helfrich, Sr. and Tony Serino.

A memorial gathering will be from 5 p.m.-8 p.m. on Tuesday, February 19, 2019, at Preston-Schilling Funeral Home in Dixon. Burial of cremated remains will be at Oakwood Cemetery in Dixon at a later date. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established.
