PRINCETON — Lucy A. Taylor, 60, of Princeton passed away Friday, Feb. 22, 2019, at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.
Lucy was born Feb. 5, 1959, in Princeton to Christopher and Rosaria (Mercogliano) Taylor of LaMoille.
She graduated from LaMoille High School and Illinois Valley Community College (summa cum laude).
She loved cats, gardening, especially her fairy gardens, reading (Stephen King was her favorite), collecting frogs, rescuing stray animals, “Wizard of Oz” and “I Love Lucy” (laughing at candy factory episode every time), playing Scrabble, traveling to Mount Rushmore and Italy, and spending time with family. She was, and will always be, a loving mother, sister, aunt and friend.
She is survived by three children, Chelsea (Dean) Blair, Jason Taylor and Alessandra Marandola, all of Princeton; one grandson, Daiquan Owens; two brothers, Jim (Rosie) Taylor and Rick (Julie) Taylor; three sisters, Mary Taylor, Dode (Clyde) Perry and Linda (Carl) Beattie; 33 nieces and nephews; 28 great-nieces and great-nephews; and four great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, George Taylor and Tony Taylor; and a brother-in-law, Clyde Perry.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. Monday, March 4, at St. Patrick Church in Arlington with Father Patrick Fixsen officiating. Burial will be in the Calvary Cemetery in Arlington.
Memorials may be directed to the donor’s choice.
