Winfert named to TCC Second Team

Tri-County All-Conference

DePue senior Marcus Winfert was named to the 2018-19 Tri-County Second Team All-Conference basketball team.

Winfert led the Little Giants in scoring (15.9), rebounding (9.5), assists (3.6) and steals (3.9).

Putnam County placed two boys on the TCC team. Senior Caleb Wright made second team, and senior Luke Carlson was named to the third team.

Unanimous selections Jack Snook of Marquette and Jake Weber of Roanoke-Benson, both seniors, headed up the first team. They were joined by seniors Chase Thumm of Marquette, Sam Grushkin of Seneca and Will Peppers of Peoria Christian.

Also named to the second team were seniors Kyle Voytko of Woodland, Gabe Meister of Peoria Christian and Logan Komater of Marquette and junior Jack Weber of Roanoke-Benson

Third-team honors went to seniors AJ Foster of Midland, Connor Greves of Seneca and
Josh Maubach of Henry-Senachwine and sophomore Luke Braman of Roanoke-Benson.

TCC girls

Senior Madelyn Dzierzynski, a unanimous selection, was one of three Putnam County seniors named to the Tri-County Conference girls basketball team.

Classmates Megan Wiesbrock and Lindsey DiazDeLeon were named to the second team.

Other unanimous selections were senior Abriana Jashari of TCC newcomer Seneca and sophomore Maddie Monge of Roanoke-Benson. Also selected to the first team were senior Lexi Greve of Seneca and junior Maddie Grandsart of Midland.

Rounding out the second team are seniors Hannah Cowie of Marquette and Kaye Brown of Midland, and junior Arberita Jashari of Seneca.

Third-team honors went to freshman Nakeita Kessling of Henry-Senachwine, seniors Molly Baker of Seneca and Maggie Hettel of Marquette, and juniors Bailey Leman of Roanoke-Benson and Tiffany Mallow of Peoria Christian.
