DeKalb County Sheriff's Office promotes sponsorships for state association

SYCAMORE – Want to help fight crime with a cash donation? Now there’s an opportunity.

According to a news release from the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office, an increasing number of people have been asking what they can do to help in the fight against crime. On Friday, Sheriff Roger Scott announced that a $20 donation will make you an associate member of the Illinois Sheriffs Association.

“We see a continued number of people who are expressing support for law enforcement,” Scott said.

For businesses, it costs $50 annually. The pledge won’t automatically renew after a year, said Scott, who said mailers to renew will be sent out. He said all the funds go to the state association, and they’ll fund technical resources, training and legislative support on key crime issues.

Contributions are tax-deductible, and the program does not solicit by phone, the release says.

To sign up, visit ilsheriff.org, write Illinois Sheriffs Association at 401 E. Washington, Suite 1000, Springfield, 62701, or call 217-753-2372. Or you can pop by the sheriff’s office at 150 N. Main St., Sycamore.

“It is a valuable investment in the future,” Scott said in the release.
