Joliet Catholic Academy recently presented the JCA Recognition Award to Ed and Gloria Dollinger.
Ed Dollinger grew up on a grain and livestock farm in the Plainfield area, graduating from St. Mary Immaculate Parish School, Joliet Catholic High School (’81) and the University of Illinois (’85).
He opened the first Edward Jones Investments office in Joliet in 1986. He was a regional leader, a senior regional leader and currently is an advanced branch team performance consultant, covering the Midwest region.
Ed has attended his firm’s Managing Partners’ Conference for 25 years. As a top 25 financial adviser at Edward Jones, he has attended multiple Barron’s Top 100 Summits.
Gloria graduated from the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana with a degree in health and safety studies and from the University of Illinois at Chicago with a degree in nutrition and medical dietetics.
She is a registered dietitian, certified in obesity and adult weight management. She is the nutrition supervisor at the Joliet Park District’s Inwood Athletic Club and consults for Easter Seals’ residential clients.
A commissioner on the Will County Board, Gloria is on the finance and judicial committees, Will County MAPP Collaborative and the Workforce Investment Board of Will County.
At JCA, Ed was on the alumni board in the 1980s and the board of directors from 2008 to 2015. Both Ed and Gloria were on the parent association board and were presidents from 2009 to 2011. They co-chaired the Jubilaté Committee in 2010 and 2011. Ed is on JCA’s development committee.
They are co-chairing the University of St. Francis Centennial Campaign Committee. They belong to Joliet Rotary Club. Gloria is on Presence St. Joseph Medical Center Auxiliary, past board president; Presence St. Joseph Medical Center Foundation, past president; and Joliet Junior Women’s Club, past president.
Ed is on the University of St. Francis board of trustees, chairman of the Diocese of Joliet finance council, member and past chairman of the Will County Center for Economic Development, on the Joliet YMCA investment Committee, and past chairman and founding member of the Community Foundation of Will County Development Committee. Ed is past chairman of St. Joseph Medical Center Board.
At St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church in Joliet, Ed is a lector and is capital campaign co-chairman. Gloria is a Eucharistic minister and past president for the school board and the parish council.
