Sandra Boender

MANLIUS — Sandra K. Boender, 79, of Manlius died Saturday, March 2, 2019, at her home in Manlius.

She was born Aug. 23, 1939, in Queen, Pa., the daughter of Rena I. Claar. She married James Boender July 7, 1974, in Rock Falls. He preceded her in death Feb. 27, 2000.

Sandy attended Rock Falls High School. She was owner/operator of J and S Antiques in Sheffield. She was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Evangelical Church, Manlius. She was a postcard fanatic and loved traveling the world. Sandy enjoyed antiques, shopping and going to the boat.

Sandy is survived by one son, Greg (Shannon) Whitmer of Manlius; one daughter, Sherry Dant of Princeton; three grandchildren, Melanie Whitmer of Princeton, Troy (Chrissy Cates) Seibech of Princeton and Kaycie Whitmer of Henry; one great-granddaughter, Ava Seibech of Princeton; a dear family friend, Brenda Chuchawat of Princeton; two cousins, Randy and Steve Osborn, both of Sterling; and her sweet dog, Sugar.

She was preceded in death by her mother; her husband, James; her second love, Wilbur King; and her son-in-law, Jeffrey Dant.

A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, March 6, at the Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Manlius with the Rev. Ryan Mackey officiating. A visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday, March 6, prior to the service at the church. Burial will be in Manlius Cemetery, Manlius.
