Driver seriously injured in Woodstock crash, police chief says

A driver who struck a pole Friday afternoon at the corner of Route 14 and Lake Avenue was seriously injured and required a Flight for Life helicopter transport, Woodstock Police Chief John Lieb said.

Lieb said he had been advised that the victim was flown to Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville. The driver's current condition is not known.

The Major Crash Assistance Team was called to the scene and was wrapping up its data collection by about 4:45 p.m. Friday, Lieb said.

Lieb said Woodstock police, Woodstock Fire/Rescue District and MCAT are investigating the crash.
