Mobile home fire in Crystal Lake causes $75K in damage

A Tuesday morning fire caused $75,000 in damage to a mobile home in Crystal Lake, according to a news release from the Crystal lake Fire Rescue Department.

Crews responded at 4:48 a.m. to the reported structure fire in the 300 block of Valhalla Circle and discovered a fully involved mobile home fire, according to the release. All occupants were out of the home by the time crews arrived.

Units took a defensive approach to the fire, operating from the outside of the home. The blaze started to extend to another unit but was quickly extinguished, according to the release.

No firefighters were injured and an occupant of the mobile home suffered minor burns.

Crews from Algonquin, Barrington-Countryside, Carpentersville, Cary, Huntley, Marengo, McHenry, Nunda Rural, Union, Wauconda, West Dundee and Wonder Lake also assisted.

Fire investigators from Crystal lake and surrounding communities are attempting to determine the cause of the fire, according to the release.
