Malta voters return sitting trustees to office

MALTA – Voters on Tuesday returned three sitting village board members to office.

Donald Haeffner, Thomas Folowell and Dennis Heins all were elected to new four-year terms, according to unofficial vote totals from the DeKalb County clerk’s office.

Haeffner was the leading vote-getter with 50, followed by Heins and Folowell, who had 45 votes each, according to unofficial totals. Challenger Fred Hall finished fourth with 30 votes.

The village board has seven members who serve four-year terms.
