STERLING – Alan Skoog, in the landscape business for 50 years, has decided to scale back.

Skoog Landscape and Design’s Sterling location at 2612 W. LeFevre Road will close once a buyer is found for the property, and at that time operations will move to his original shop at 330 Calvert Ave. in Chadwick, where Skoog first opened in 1969.

“My wife thinks it’s time to scale back,” the 77-year-old said.

The business, which celebrated 50 years on Feb. 13, which also is Skoog’s birthday, sells a wide variety of trees, plants and landscape design necessities.

Surplus equipment is being sold in preparation for the move.
