PRINCETON — Emily P. Morton, 88, of Princeton died at 5:50 p.m. Thursday, April 4, 2019, at Aperion Care in Princeton.
She was born April 1, 1931, in Streator to Paul and Meta (Beckman) Block. She married Donald L. Morton May 22, 1955, in the Zion Lutheran Church in Wenona. He died Feb. 11, 2010.
She graduated from Wenona High School in 1949. She was a bookkeeper for Morton Fertilizer in Wyanet.
She was an active member of the First Lutheran Church in Princeton, an avid bridge player, and a member of the Perry Memorial Hospital Auxiliary.
Surviving are one son, Gary Morton of Princeton; one daughter, Pam (Mike) Whiteford of Bourbonnais; four grandchildren, Christopher Whiteford of Romeoville, Collin Slattery of Columbus, Ohio, Anna Morton of Princeton and Allison Morton of Princeton; one sister, Martha (Gene) Jannusch of Morton; and one sister-in-law, Charlotte Block of Toluca.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a son, John David Morton; a brother, LeRoy Block; and two sisters, Mildred Ward and Delores White.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, April 11, at the First Lutheran Church in Princeton with the Rev. Bill Shields officiating. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery in Princeton.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, April 10, at the Grant-Johnson Funeral Home in Princeton.
