Geneva D-304 board accepts donations

Girl Scouts, Music Boosters, district vendor offer gifts

GENEVA – The Geneva District 304 school board voted April 8 to accept the donation of gifts.

The Girl Scout Troop No. 231 requested to donate a water fountain and bottle filling station to Harrison Street Elementary School, valued at $3,356 plus freight.

Music Boosters donated nearly $4,330 in instruments and music, records show.

The donations include three chrome-plated drum major maces, a cello and a Yamaha electric bass for the high school; rhythm stick activity kits – including wrist and ankle bells – for preschool; choral folders and a replacement bass for Geneva Middle School North; and a carol collection for the Geneva Middle School South choir.

A vendor of desk and office equipment to the district, Varidesk, is making a donation of marker board, storage lockers and other items, valued at $2,565 plus freight.

Board member Michael McCormick said he appreciated the donations made to the district..

In accordance with the district’s policy, gifts, grants and bequests with a value of more than $500 require the board's acceptance.
