MAPLE PARK – HorsePower Therapeutic Riding is hosting a volunteer orientation for individuals who are interested in working with horses and helping children and adults with disabilites. The orientation is from 6 to 8:30 p.m. May 7 at Fox Chase Farm, 46W276 Route 38, Maple Park, and will teach attendees about the benefits of therapeutic horse riding.
HorsePower is a nonprofit organization that needs dedicated volunteers who are available on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays to help with stable chores, grooming, tacking and horse-leading. Volunteers must be at least 14 years old, have a minimum of two years of horse experience and be confident handling the animals.
Support volunteers do not need horse experience, but can help with marketing, fundraising, cleaning, grant-writing, childcare and clerical tasks.
