Mary J. Stage-Poff Naftzger

STERLING – Mary J. Stage-Poff Naftzger, 65, of Sterling, died, Friday, April 12, 2019, at CGH Medical Center, Sterling.

Mary was born April 18, 1953, in Freeport, the daughter of Clarence and Valera (Shepard) Stage.

Survivors include three sons, Curtis Poff, Corey Poff, and Stacy (Megan Borden) Poff, all of Sterling; one stepdaughter, Shelly Naftzger; two stepsons, Michael and Mark Naftzger; three sisters, Lucy (Dick) Shepard of Rock Falls, Cindy (J.R.) Fortune, and Theresa Stage Brown, both of Sterling; two stepsisters, Betty Greer of Rock Falls and Barb (Bud) Tomman of Morrison; three brothers, Leo (Sharron) Stage of Dixon, Randy (Trudy) Gallentine, and Bud Stage, both of Rock Falls; special friend, “Rocky;” 14 grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Curt Poff Sr. and Mike Naftzger; sisters, Gloria Conrad, Vlora Fortune; brothers, Joe Gallentine, Jerry Lee Gallentine, Bobby Stage, and Cal Stage Sr.; niece, Tiffany Stage; nephew, Lucas Stage; and daughter-in-law, Jennifer Morgan.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 18, 2019, at Schilling Funeral Home and Cremation, Sterling, with Dalmus Meeks, officiating. Burial will be at Oak Knoll Memorial Park, Sterling. Visitation will be from 9-11 a.m. Thursday, prior to services at the funeral home.
