Buddyz A Chicago Pizzeria has closed in Algonquin.
The McHenry Buddyz posted a statement on its Facebook page earlier this week.
“It is with a heavy heart that we announce to you that due to personal reasons the original Buddyz Pizzeria. ... will no longer be open for business,” according to the post. “We would like to thank all of our loyal customers in Algonquin and the surrounding area for 13 years of community, family, and Butter Crust Pizza. For anyone craving our signature Butter Crust Pan Pizza, a Sloppy Giuseppe, or Chopped Salad, Buddyz McHenry welcomes you to call or stop by at any time to get your fix. Arrivederci Algonquin!”
The Algonquin pizzeria was at 2749 Algonquin Road.
The McHenry Buddyz, at 1138 N. Green St., is the only one in Illinois, according to the company website. There are three Buddyz locations in Arizona.
Buddyz offers deep dish, hand-tossed, thin crust and gluten-free pizzas along with gourmet salads, sandwiches and burgers.
