Lions Club donates $13,000 back to community

The Princeton Lions Club has donated $13,000 back to the community through its annual contributions. The donations were raised through fundraisers throughout the year. The monies will benefit several local nonprofit organizations that serve a variety of ages — from youths to senior citizens.

This year’s recipients were Second Story Teen Center, Freedom House, Princeton Community Band, Bureau County 4-H, Rumble for the Kids, Leader Dog for the Blind, Boy Scouts, Gateway Services, Veterans Park, Bureau County Senior Center, Camp Lions, Princeton Public Library and Bureau County Food Pantry.

The monies also will aid vision and hearing programs and fund three scholarships for seniors from Princeton High School’s Class of 2019.
