McHenry County Sheriff’s Office SWAT team to practice Monday in Lake in the Hills

The McHenry County Sheriff’s Office multijurisdictional SWAT team will hold a field exercise Monday.

Training will start at 8 a.m. at a vacant Lake in the Hills-owned building at 1111 Pyott Road, according to an alert from Lake in the Hills police.

The training will involve a large police presence at the site.

“Training in progress” signs will be displayed in the area.

The SWAT team is composed of members from several local police departments and is activated to assist agencies during high-risk situations outside normal police procedures, such as barricaded suspects, hostage rescue, active shooters and high-risk search or arrest warrants.
