Bertha Osterman

SHEFFIELD — Bertha I. Osterman, 100, formerly of Sheffield, a resident of Liberty Village in Princeton, went to be with her Lord from there on Thursday, June 13, 2019.

Bertha Sanchez was born Oct. 25, 1918, in Ottawa, the daughter of Herman M. and Elizabeth J. (Fox) Sanchez. She married Charles I. Osterman on Dec. 20, 1938, in Mineral. He died May 6, 1997.

Bertha was a member of the Sheffield United Methodist Church and former member of former Buda Baptist Church. She had been a Sunday school teacher for many years. She was also a member of Sheffield United Methodist Women.

She enjoyed Moody Bible Radio Broadcasts, Trans World Radio, Billy Graham and was very involved with the Moody Bible Institute, Chicago.

Survivors include a niece and spouse, Jeannie and William Armstrong of Ava, Mo.; a great-nephew and spouse, Bradley and Tess Rinehart; a great-niece and spouse, Christine and Eric Herdon; two great-great-nephews, Leo and Blake Rinehart; and friends, including special friends Rick and Evonne Bishop of Sheffield.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, June 17, at the Stackhouse-Moore Funeral & Cremation Services, 225 E. Park St. in Geneseo, with Pastor Richard Bishop officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home in Geneseo. Burial will be in the Erie Cemetery in Erie.
