New assistant principal named at Irene King Elementary in Romeoville

The Valley View School District 365U Board approved the hiring of Michael Aguilar as the new assistant principal at Irene King Elementary School in Romeoville.

Aguilar previously served as the district’s assistant director of student services since 2018. He succeeds Patti Chow, who will become assistant principal at B.J. Ward Elementary School in Bolingbrook.

Aguilar began his career in 2007 as a physical education and health teacher at Brooks Middle School in Bolingbrook, where he also coached wrestling. He then became dean of students at Brooks in 2012.

He graduated from Aurora University, earned a master’s degree from Concordia University and got his doctorate from the University of St. Francis.
