Mr. & Mrs. George Lesak of Streator will celebrate their 70th Wedding Anniversary on Sunday, July 7th from 1 pm to 3 pm at Evergreen Assisted Living, East Main St., Streator. They invite you to join them in the celebration for an afternoon filled with love, laughter, desserts and punch. They ask only that you bring yourselves for reminiscing and fun, no gifts please.
The former Rosemary Gutek and George Lesak were married on July 26, 1949 at St. Stephen’s Church. The late Monsignor George A. Dzuryo officiated at the ceremony. In attendance at the ceremony were the late Genevieve (Kmetz) Hancin, Robert Meyers, John Kusnerik, Millie (Lesak) Evans, the late Edward Mayerchin, Dorothy (Yusko) Kusnerik, and Carolyn (Bodznick) Magelli.
The couple’s parents were the late Mary & Don Gochanour and the late Mary & Alex Lesak. They are the parents of five children: Rick (Sallie) Lesak of Streator, Ronald (Kathy) Lesak of Streator, Thomas (Marta) Lesak of Alvin, Daniel (Cathy) Lesak of Huntley, and Susan (David) Ainsley of Streator. They are the proud grandparents of 13 grandchildren, 1 deceased and 12 great-grandchildren.
George was a welder at Streator Dependable and retired after 36 years at Nicor Gas Company. Rosemary was a bookkeeper at John & Joe Florist and retired from Liptak Tea Factory. They are enjoying spending their days together.
