Joe’s opens the taps on Romeoville beverage depot, taproom

Joliet-based Joe’s Beverage Warehouse will open its new Romeoville venture Thursday. The 15,000-square-foot facility at 460 N. Independence Blvd. in Romeoville will feature a variety of wine, liquor and a wide selection of craft beer like its Joliet location. Special barrel-aged beers will be on tap during a grand opening Thursday. The store opens at 9 a.m., and beer will be poured at noon.

“[We’re] more craft-focused,” Vice President of Operations Ammar Sheikah said. “[This is] more of a place you can hang out and bring your friends and drink a few beers.”

Josh Potter, Romeoville’s community development director, said the development of the Route 53 corridor has been part of a decade-long vision for the area. “We hope this development creates momentum for the area, and the progress continues,” Potter said.
