FRANKLIN GROVE – Betty Lou Hopper, 85, of Franklin Grove, passed away Friday, June 28, 2019, at Franklin Grove Living and Rehabilitation Center. She was a lifetime farmer in Lee County area.
Betty was born August 21, 1933, in Cuthbert, SD, the daughter of Anthony and Berniece (Rindels) Goeman. She married Donald P. Hopper on January 20, 1952, in Woonsocket, SD. He preceded her in death on January 15, 2014. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Franklin Grove and Living History Antique Equipment Association. Betty enjoyed sewing as a member of the St. Paul Lutheran Women’s Sewing group.
She is survived by her daughter, Deborah Bubrick; son, Donald E. (Bonnie) Hopper; four grandchildren, Jennifer (Erik Atkinson) Bubrick, Erin Bubrick, Kevin (Stephanie) Hopper, Kelly Hopper; nine great-grandchildren, Brody Hopper, Marlee Hopper, Beckett Hopper, Kendall Hopper, Margaret Atkinson, Jense Atkinson, Hazel Atkinson, Celia Atkinson, and Mabel Bubrick.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Susan Hopper; son-in-law, Bruce Bubrick; and two brothers, Robert and Ronald Goeman.
Cremation rites have been accorded. Private burial of cremated remains will be at a later date.
