Flood advisory to go into effect Monday evening for Fox River near Algonquin dam

A flood advisory has been issued for the Fox River at the Algonquin Lock and Dam, which will affect McHenry County, according to the National Weather Service.

The advisory will be in effect from 7 p.m. Monday until 1 p.m. Saturday.

According to the National Weather Service, if a motorist encounters a flooded road, they should turn around and find an alternative route.
