Rose Lund

PRINCETON — Rose Marie Lund, 83, of Princeton died at 12:30 a.m. Friday, July 5, 2019, at her home.

She was born June 12, 1936, in Peru, the daughter of Edward and Dorothy (Klug) Daniel. She married Richard L. Lund June 22, 1957, in Peru. He preceded her in death on Jan. 18, 2004.

Rose graduated from LPO High School and earned her bachelor’s degree from Northern Illinois University in DeKalb. She went on to earn her master’s degree in education.

Rose worked for the Tampico Grade School for more than 25 years as a second-grade teacher, and was a devoted mother to her five children and farmwife to her husband, Richard.

Rose was a charitable person who spent countless hours gardening and traveling with her family. She was very devoted to the Catholic church, including teaching Catechism for many years.

Survivors include five children, Laura (Lee Langeburg) Bird of rural Princeton, Lynda (Ed) Joiner of Tiskilwa, Lisa (James) Waterhouse of Walnut, Lawrence (Leslie) Lund of Princeton and Lyle (Brenda) Lund of Princeton; 10 grandchildren, Thomas L. Scanland III, Kristy Scanland, Brandon Scanland, Taylor (Drew) Foes, Kristen (Rich) Bell, Brittney Waterhouse, Chloe Lund, Olivia Lund, Emily Lund and Hannah Lund; four great-grandchildren, Kaylee Scanland, Analea Scanland, Emelia Bell and Connor Bell; and one brother, Mike (Carol) Daniel of LaCrosse, Wis.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one grandson, William Lund in infancy; and one great-granddaughter, Grace Hadley Bell in infancy.

Visitation will be from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 9, at St. Louis Catholic Church in Princeton. Services will follow at 11 a.m. at the church with Father Thomas Shaw officiating. Burial will be in the Manlius Cemetery in Manlius.

Memorials may be directed to the LaSalle Veterans Home in LaSalle.
