Investigate shooting incident

Sheriff’s deputies are investigating a report of the aggravated discharge of a firearm at 6:24 p.m. July 14 in the 1000 block of Route 30 in Oswego Township. No injuries were reported.

Juvenile arrested

Sheriff’s deputies arrested a juvenile at 3:05 p.m. July 12 at a home in the 0-99 block of Sonora Road in Boulder Hill on a charge of domestic battery. Police said deputies were told the juvenile battered two family members.

Three robbed in Boulder Hill

Sheriff’s deputies took a report of a robbery at 3:40 p.m. July 12 on Sonora Road at Afton Drive in Boulder Hill. Police said three male juveniles were robbed. The juveniles suffered minor injuries in the incident, but no weapons were involved. Police said they are investigating.

Three hurt in rollover crash

Three people were injured in a two-vehicle crash at 12:15 p.m. July 13 at Route 52 and Roods Road in Big Grove Township, according to the Sheriff’s Office. Police said the driver of one of the vehicles involved in the crash, William J. Slygh, 54, of the 2000 block of 2879 Road, Marseilles, and two passengers in his vehicle were transported to an area hospital with nonlife-threatening injuries. The crash occurred, police said, when a vehicle driven by Emmanuel J. White, 51, of the 100 block of Union Street, Newark, disobeyed a stop sign while traveling north on Roods Road and struck Slygh’s vehicle, which left the road and rolled over multiple times.

Battery arrest

Sheriff’s deputies arrested Jennifer K. Scheele, 37, of the 100 block of Bertram Drive, Yorkville, at 9:32 p.m. July 13 in the 0-99 block of Laurie Lane in Oswego Township on a charge of domestic battery. Police said Scheele was transported to the Kendall County Jail in Yorkville pending court proceedings.

Briefcase stolen

Sheriff’s deputies took a report of a burglary to a vehicle at 10:17 a.m. July 14 in the 5000 block of Audrey Avenue in Bristol Township. Police said someone entered the vehicle July 9 or 10 and stole a briefcase containing business papers.

DUI charge after crash

Sheriff’s deputies arrested Johnathon Salgado, 19, of the 10000 block of Legion Road, Yorkville, at 2:39 p.m. July 13 after responding to a single-vehicle crash on Route 71 at Legion Road. Police said Salgado was charged with driving under the influence. Salgado later posted bond and was released pending court proceedings.

Arrested on warrant

Sheriff’s deputies arrested Samantha R. Johnson, 27, of the 0-99 block of Circle Drive East, Boulder Hill, at 10:52 p.m. July 12 in the 1000 block of Douglas Road in Oswego. Police said Johnson was wanted on a Kendall County warrant for failure to appear in court on retail theft charges. Police said Johnson was transported to the County Jail where she later posted bond and was released pending a court appearance.

Trespass arrest

Sheriff’s deputies arrested John F. Williams, Jr., 26, of the 700 block of Eberly Court, Plano, at 12:06 a.m. July 12 in the 100 block of Harbor Drive in Oswego Township on a charge of criminal trespass to residence and criminal damage to property. Police said deputies were told the suspect damaged a door while gaining entry to a residence that he knew to be occupied. Williams was transported to the County Jail where his bond was set at $500.

Skid loader recovered, but GPS missing

Sheriff’s deputies recovered a 2015 Caterpillar 259D Skid Loader that had been reported stolen July 14 in Naperville at 1:35 p.m. July 15 in a parking lot in the 24000 block of south Cannonball Trail in Bristol Township. Police said a GPS unit that had been placed on the Skid Loader had been removed. The GPS unit is valued at $600.

Juvenile referred

Sheriff’s deputies investigated a report of a domestic battery at a residence in the 0-99 block of Ashlawn Avenue in Boulder Hill at 5:54 p.m. July 12. Police said a male juvenile was referred to juvenile court as a result of the incident. No injuries were reported.

Take theft report

Sheriff’s deputies took a theft report at 10 p.m. July 12 at a residence in the 0-99 block of Circle Drive East in Boulder Hill. Police said the incident remains under investigation.

Man urinating in street reported

Sheriff’s deputies responded to the 0-99 block of Stratford Road in Boulder Hill at 6:39 p.m. July 11 on a report of an unknown male subject urinating by a red vehicle parked on the street. Police said deputies were told the offender left the area in the vehicle. However, police said they were unable to substantiate enough evidence to confirm the incident had occurred.

Hit-and-run reported

Sheriff’s deputies took a report of a hit-and-run crash that occurred at 1:30 p.m. July 11 in a parking lot in the 11000 block of Fox Road in Fox Township. Police said that an unknown vehicle struck the victim’s vehicle and fled the scene without providing information.

Unauthorized charges found

Sheriff’s deputies took an ID theft report at 3:43 p.m. July 11 from a resident of the 15000 block of Lisbon Road in Lisbon Township. Police said the victim reported finding unauthorized charges on a credit card.

Domestic battery arrest

Sheriff’s deputies arrested Jessie Taylor, 59, of the 2500 block of Light Road in Oswego Township at 6:50 p.m., July 10 in the 1200 block of Light Road on a charge of domestic battery. Police said deputies were told that Taylor made contact with a female family member. The suspect was transported to the County Jail pending court proceedings.

Motorist cited in crash

Sheriff’s deputies responded to a three-vehicle crash at 9:52 a.m. July 15 at Ridge Road at Holt Road in Seward Township. Police said the crash occurred when a vehicle driven by Adam J. Biniak, 20, of Orland Hills rear-ended two other vehicles. Police said Biniak received a minor injury, but refused treatment. No other injuries were reported. Police cited Biniak for following too closely.

Burglary attempt thwarted

Sheriff’s deputies took a report of an attempted burglary to a vehicle at 10:50 p.m. July 10 in the 0-100 block of Old Post Road in Boulder Hill. Police said a female got out of a dark-colored Ford Focus and attempted to enter two vehicles parked along the road. The owner of the vehicles confronted the female who then fled the scene. Police said they are continuing their investigation.

Stolen vehicle recovered

Sheriff’s deputies recovered a vehicle that had been reported stolen in LaSalle County at 4:18 p.m. July 10 on Miller Road at Creek Road in Little Rock Township.

Take hit-and-run report

Sheriff’s deputies took a report of a hit-and-run crash that occurred at 6:05 p.m. July 10 in the 12000 block of River Road in Little Rock Township. Police said the victim told deputies that she heard a vehicle crash into her mailbox and a road sign. The vehicle then continued west on River Road. Police said they recovered several pieces of the offending vehicle that they believe to be a black Kia. Police said their investigation into the crash is continuing.

Investigation continues

Sheriff’s deputies are continuing their investigation into a reported domestic battery that occurred at 10:47 p.m. July 10 in the 0-99 block of Amesbury Road in Boulder Hill.

Graffiti damage

Sheriff’s deputies took a report of graffiti damage on the Fox River Trail off Route 25 near Bereman Road in Boulder Hill at 8:25 a.m. July 10. Police said graffiti also was found on the Route 30 bridge.

Harbor Drive damage reported

Sheriff’s deputies took a report involving criminal damage to property in the 100 block of Harbor Drive in Oswego Township at 5:57 p.m. July 9.
