FABYAN WINDMILL OPEN FOR THE SEASON: 1 to 4 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays through Oct. 15, on the east side of Fabyan Forest Preserve on Route 25 in Geneva. The 68-foot, five-story windmill was built by Louis Blackhaus, a German craftsman, between 1850 and 1860. It now contains German, Swedish and Dutch millwright work and is one of the few in the world that’s been restored to run off natural wind energy. Private tours are also available.
