Harbor Drive arrest
Sheriff’s deputies arrested Kurt R. Zitzke, 30, of Plainfield at 9:35 a.m. July 26 in the 100 block of Harbor Drive just west of Route 31 in Oswego Township. Police said Zitzke was charged with battery and domestic battery. He was transported to the Kendall County Jail in Yorkville pending court proceedings.
Stolen golf cart recovered
Sheriff’s deputies located and returned a golf cart that had been reported stolen at 5 a.m. July 29 in the 13000 block of Ridge Road in Seward Township. In addition to the golf cart, police said the victim told deputies that two vehicles on the property had been burglarized. Police said they are continuing their investigation into the incident.
Investigate domestic incident
Sheriff’s deputies took a report of a domestic battery incident at 3:41 a.m. July 29 in the 7700 block of Fox River Road in Fox Township. Police said their investigation into the incident is continuing.
DUI among charges
Sheriff’s deputies arrested Jonathan Escobedo, 20, of the 0-99 block of North Union Street, Aurora, at 4:13 p.m. July 27 after stopping the vehicle he was driving for a speeding violation on Caterpillar Drive at Route 31.
Police said Escobedo was charged with driving under the influence of drugs/alcohol, driving while license suspended, unlawful possession of alcohol by a minor and unlawful consumption of alcohol by a minor. Police said Escobedo was also ticketed for speeding and illegal transportation of alcohol. He was transported to the County Jail where he later posted bond and was released pending court proceedings.
Gift card scam reported
Sheriff’s deputies took a false personation report at 8:12 a.m. July 27 from a resident of the 0-99 block of Bristol Ridge Road in Bristol Township. Police said an unknown subject provided false information to the victim in an email, requesting financial help in the form of a gift card which the victim provided.
DUI arrest
Sheriff’s deputies arrested Abelardo Martinez, 33, of the 400 block of West Church Street, Plano, at 4:03 a.m. July 27 after stopping the vehicle he was driving near the intersection of Route 34 and Eldamain Road in Bristol Township. Police said Martinez was charged with driving under the influence and transported to the County Jail pending court proceedings.
Battery, resisting among charges
Sheriff’s deputies arrested Jorge Juarez-Lopez, 29, of the 1000 block of Route 30, Aurora, July 27 at his residence on a charge of domestic battery, aggravated battery and resisting a peace officer. Police said Juarez-Lopez was transported to the County Jail pending court proceedings.
Vehicle burglarized
Sheriff’s deputies took a burglary to vehicle report at 12:16 p.m. July 27 in the 0-100 block of Saugatuck Road in Boulder Hill. Police said the victim reported multiple items were stolen out of a vehicle that had been left unlocked.
Take battery report
Sheriff’s deputies responded to a report of a battery at 9 p.m. July 28 in the 8000 block of Van Emmon Road in Oswego Township. Police said deputies were told the incident had occurred at 5:30 p.m. and they are continuing their investigation.
Vehicle burglary
Sheriff’s deputies are investigating a report of a burglary to a vehicle parked sometime between between 3 and 8 a.m. in the 6000 block of Route 71. The victim told police that multiple items were taken out of the vehicle which had been left unlocked.
Battery investigation
Sheriff’s deputies are investigating a report of a battery that occurred at 2:57 a.m. July 28 in the 6600 block of Route 71 in Bristol Township.
Fraud, ID theft reported
Sheriff’s deputies took a fraud and ID theft report at 11:47 a.m. July 25 at a residence in the 0-99 block of Eastfield Road in Boulder Hill. Police said the victim, a local business owner, was defrauded of $9,875.87 after several bank accounts and his personal information became compromised.
Cited for 107 mph in 45 mph zone
Sheriff’s deputies ticketed Stephen Wesby, 57, of the 100 block of North Farnsworth Avenue, Aurora, for speeding after stopping his vehicle at 12:15 a.m. July 25 on Route 47 at Caton Farm Road in Kendall Township. Police said Wesby is accused of driving 107 mph in a 45 mph construction zone. In addition to the speeding citation, police said Wesby was ticketed for driving without insurance and having an expired license.
Seeking information
Sheriff’s deputies are investigating a hit and run crash that occurred July 22 in the parking lot at the Kendall County Fairgrounds in the 10000 block of Route 71 in Kendall Township. Police said a 2011 Chevrolet Traverse was allegedly struck on the front passage side quarter panel while parked in the lot. Police ask that anyone with information on the crash to contact them at 630-553-7500.
Take domestic report
Sheriff’s deputies took a report of a domestic battery at 8:08 p.m. July 23 at a residence in the 100 block of Long Beach Road in Boulder Hill. Police said deputies were told the incident had occurred at 1:30 a.m.
Warrant arrest
Sheriff’s deputies arrested Jorge Garcia Contreras, 46, of Aurora, at 7:47 a.m. July 24, after stopping the vehicle he was driving for a speeding violation on Wheeler Road at Schlapp Road in NaAuSay Township. Police said Contreras was wanted on a Kendall County warrant for failure to appear in court on a prior charge of driving on a suspended license. Police said Contreras was transported to the County Jail where he later posted bond and was released pending court proceedings.
Forgery reported
Sheriff’s deputies took a report of a forgery case at 5:51 p.m. July 24 in the 0-99 block of Hllside Drive in Kendall Township. Police said the victim told deputies that someone had created several checks and withdrawn money from the victim’s business account. Police said they are investigating.
Vehicle burglary reported
Sheriff’s deputies took a report of a burglary from a vehicle at 4 p.m. July 23 in the 800 block of Creek Road in Little Rock Township. Police said personal items were taken from the vehicle.
Hits deer on Route 71
A Marseilles man told sheriff’s deputies that he struck a deer at 9:14 p.m. July 26 while driving on Route 71 and Chicago Road in Newark. Police said the motorist was not injured.
