Mary Janet Wahl

ORMOND BEACH, Fla. – Mary Janet Wahl, 95, formerly of Sterling, IL died Monday, July 29, 2019, at Halifax Health and Hospice.

She was born on January 12, 1924, in Dixon, IL the daughter of George and Helen (Ryan) McKenney. She married Warren P. Wahl on November 7, 1944, in Dixon. While a Sterling resident she was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church.

Survivors include her son, Jim (Debby) Wahl of Sioux Falls, SD; her daughter, Theresa Wahl of Ormond Beach, FL; her sister, Elizabeth Herrmann; two grandchildren, Lance (Joel Maloof) Wahl and Adam (Lindsay) Wahl; and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her former husband, Warren P. Wahl in 1981; two sisters, Kathleen Nichols and Helen Reeser; one brother, Edward McKinney; her grandson, Thomas Michael Wahl in 1977.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 3, 2019, from 10 to 11 a.m. at the McDonald Funeral Home, 505 First Ave. in Sterling. Funeral services will follow at 11 a.m. with the Reverend James Kennan, Pastor of St. Mary Catholic Church officiating. Burial to conclude at Calvary Cemetery.
