Mary Alice Arnold

STERLING – Mary Alice Arnold, age 83, of Sterling died Tuesday, August 13, 2019, at Rock River Hospice and Home in Sterling.

Alice was born on October 30, 1935, in Centralia, WA, the daughter of Joseph Gordon and Lucille (Brady) Theriault. She married William “Bill” Arnold on February 2, 1957, in Centralia, WA. Alice was a very active member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Sterling. She was a nurse, loving wife, mother, and friend. She had endless energy for volunteering and loved baking, reading, gardening, tennis, and attending sporting events. Alice was never afraid to let anyone know her opinion, she was feisty and a fighter to the end.

Survivors include her husband of 62 years, William E. Arnold; four children, Mary (Joseph) Bloom of Pinckney, MI, Joseph (Connie) Arnold of Winnebago, IL, Timothy (Lori) Arnold of St. Charles, IL and Susan Koehler of Ames, IA; eight grandchildren, Jeff (Heather), Mike, Kaylee, Will, Riley, Grant, Grace and Sam; one great-grandchild on the way, Jillian; her brother, William (Cindy) Theriault of CA; and her niece and nephew, Julie and Dan.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one uncle, Bryant Brady.

A gathering of family and friends will be on Friday, August 16, 2019, from 10 to 11 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Sterling. Celebration of the Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11 a.m. at the church with Reverend Bruce Ludeke, Celebrant officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Rock River Hospice and Home in Sterling.
