American Legion makes joining easier

STERLING – All veterans who served from Dec. 7, 1941, to the present now can become full members of the American Legion under a new federal charter.

Members who previously signed up socially, as Sons of the American Legion or as Auxiliary, also can sign up.

Applicants must provide a copy of their DD-214 form, and can stop at any Legion post to sign up. Although Legionnaires can be members of only one post, they are welcome at any post once registered.
