Joliet lawyer Amy Melton recognized by AIFLA

The American Institute of Family Law Attorneys has recognized the performance of Illinois’s Family Law Attorney Amy Melton as 2019 10 Best Family Law Attorney for Client Satisfaction.

Melton, of Joliet, is a married mother of two children. She practices family and divorce law, as well as criminal defense.

After earning a bachelor degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, Melton received her doctorate, cum laude, from Northern Illinois University College of Law. She received her Illinois law license in 1998 and later became a member of the Federal Trial Bar for the Northern District of Illinois.

While in law school, Melton became an Assistant Editor of the Law Review. Her article, “Blind Leading the ‘Colorblind’ – The Evisceration of Affirmative Action and a Dream Still Deferred,” was published and has been repeatedly used as a legal reference by other authors.
