The Village Board in Minooka is full once again.
On Tuesday, the board unanimously approved the appointment of Ric Offerman, actor Nick Offerman’s father, to fill a vacant seat left when Trustee Dave Deahl announced he would be resigning his post because of a planned move out of the state July 23.
Ric Offerman brings with him a wealth of experience. He served as a Minooka village trustee back in the 1990s. He also served on the Minooka Planning and Zoning Commission, the Grundy County Red Cross Board, and with his parish council.
“I have a lot of experience with meetings,” he said. “I’m interested in trying to help, and my goals are not to make a fool of myself just like a regular day.”
Ric Offerman and his wife, Cathy, live in Minooka, where he’s been a resident since 1945. The couple have four children and five grandchildren.
Village Administrator Daniel Duffy also announced Tuesday that Village Clerk Kristi Lamontagna would be leaving her post in early September. Lamontagna said she was offered a new opportunity that will allow her and her husband to work closer together.
“Family comes first, and opportunity knocked and I couldn’t turn it down,” she said.
Lamontagna shifted into the village administration as clerk in 2015.
