DIXON – Rhonda Kay Lenox, 59, of Dixon, passed away Saturday, September 7, 2019, at Katherine Shaw Bethea Hospital, Dixon. She worked for Rayovac for 13 years. Prior to that she ran a home day care facility for 12 years.
Rhonda was born, January 18, 1960, in Springfield, the daughter of Charles “Charlie” and Luvilla (Thompson) Marsh. She married Ellwood “Woody” M. Lenox, Jr. on September 14, 1985, at First United Methodist Church in Dixon. Rhonda and Woody had a renewal of vows on September 3, 2016. She was a member of First United Methodist Church for 34 years as well as a past chairman for the preschool at the church prior to its closing. Rhonda enjoyed swimming and traveling to the beach. Rhonda loved to bring joy to the people around her, but most of all spending time with her family.
She is survived by her husband, Woody of Dixon; daughter, Sarah Lenox of Dixon; son, Matthew Lenox of Dixon; stepmother, Shirley Marsh of Dixon; three brothers, James (Michelle) Marsh of Cave Creek, AZ, Robert (Shannon McGrady) Marsh of Newton, NJ, and Kenneth (Camilla) Marsh of Lyndhurst, NJ; many nieces and nephews.
Rhonda was preceded in death by her parents and daughter, Ashley Lenox.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., on Thursday, September 12, 2019, at Preston-Schilling Funeral Home in Dixon. Additional visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until time of service at 10:30 a.m., on Friday, September 13, 2019, at First United Methodist Church in Dixon, with Pastor Tim Mitchell and Pastor Heewon Kim, officiating. Cremation to follow the services. Burial of cremated remains will be at Sugar Grove Cemetery at a later date.
