Altrusa International of DeKalb-Sycamore recently awarded more than $6,000 in grants to local schools, libraries and other literacy-focused organizations.

This year’s Spelling Bee is scheduled for Oct. 15 at Sycamore St. Mary’s Church Activity Center on Waterman Street in Sycamore starting at 7 p.m. Through generous donations and public participation, this event helps the club support literacy throughout DeKalb County.
