Barbara Hasselbacher-Sarber

ROCK FALLS – Barbara Hasselbacher-Sarber, 72, of Rock Falls died, Tuesday, September 10, 2019, at her home.

She was born on July 21, 1947, in Covington, TN the daughter of Presley Leon and Katherine (Rushin) McBroom. She had worked for 26 years in dietary at the Exceptional Care and Training Center in Sterling. Barbara was an excellent cook and enjoyed cooking for family and friends. She was a member of the Rock Falls American Legion Auxiliary.

Survivors include her son, Troy D. Hasselbacher (Carla Boltz) of Franklin Grove, IL; her daughter, Wendy (Buddy) Boyd of Rock Falls; her brother, Tom McBroom (Rosie Cochrane) of Sterling; her sister, Vickie (Randy) Hedrick of Sterling; her step sister, Suzy Meador; five grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her mother and step father, Katherine (Donald) Schultz; her sisters, Lori McKenna, Judy Staples; and her brother, Jeff McBroom.

A gathering of friends and family will take place on Tuesday, September 17, 2019, from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the McDonald Funeral Home & Crematory, 1002 12th Avenue in Rock Falls. The memorial service will follow at 11 a.m. with the Reverend Randy Hedrick officiating.

In lieu of flowers memorial will be established.
