STERLING – Deborah VanLanduit, age 69, of Tampico died Saturday, September 14, 2019 at Rock River Hospice & Home in Sterling.
Debi was born on October 15, 1949 in Dixon the daughter of Harry and Helen (Hays) Thompson. She married Bill VanLanduit on December 31, 1968 in Sterling. Debi was employed as a secretary for 38 years most of those years at Tampico High School and later retiring from Prophetstown High School in 2011. She was an avid reader, enjoyed horseback riding, bowling and played many roles with the high school sports programs.
Survivors include, her husband, Bill of Tampico; three daughters, Michelle (Tom) Anderson of Indian Land, S.C., Jennifer Morales of Tampico and Angela (Justin Beighle) Woodley of Atkinson; one brother, Al (Janis) Thompson of Deer Grove; three sisters, Laura Thompson of Tampico, Gigi (Chuck) Heffelfinger of Monroe, Wis. and Pati (Joe) Lynch of Richland, Wash.; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Helen in infancy; one grandson, Jacob Woodley, and one son-in-law, Marlon Morales.
Visitation will be Wednesday, September 18, 2019 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Garland Funeral Home in Tampico. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. at the funeral home, with Reverend Eldon Cook of the Walnut Community Bible Church officiating. Burial will follow at Tampico Memorial Cemetery in Tampico.
In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established to Retreat & Refresh Stroke Camp.
